Looking After our Countryside

We are working with Natural England to protect our ancient woodlands, its wildlife and flora and part of this means clearing litter thrown from cars and left by walkers in the woods. We are an all-consuming and destructive species with little respect for our environment so we need to make people aware that we are guardians of this planet.

It’s great to see that Whitstable has been named first plastic-free town in Kent. Read more HERE

At Ellenden Farm, we are a ten minute cycle ride away from the beautiful coastal town of Whitstable which is full of bars and restaurants. You can now enjoy a walk in our clean woods, followed by a swim on a clean beach. It’s good to be clean!

The weather has been amazing recently on the farm which is giving us hope for a good season this year and many new adventures. As there are so many beautiful woodland walks and cycling destinations nearby we have installed a new shower and toilet to ensure everyone keeps fresh! So if cycling or walking is your thing, then check out the Crab and Winkle cycle and walk . The Crab and Winkle Way trail takes its name from the six mile railway line which ran between the towns of Canterbury and Whitstable and most of this is traffic free and will give you an opportunity to really enjoy the rural Kent countryside

This year we have also bought two new bell tents for a much more laid back and boutique look and have just finished a new shepherds hut designed as a cricket pavilion and full of memorabilia. Perfect for those who enjoy summer and cricket! More photos to follow .
