Camping in a Shepherd’s Hut or Bell Tent – Begin your adventure!
The site is available for private hire, retreats and social gatherings – please give me a call to discuss.
We have three hand-built Shepherd’s Huts, two of the huts are suitable for three people. They have a double bed and a single bunk, a wood stove to keep the chill off along with 12-volt lighting.
Each hut has its own fire pit and a gas BBQ to cook on. Parking is available just by your hut. ! One hut ‘The Pavilion’ is designed as a cricket pavilion full of old memorabilia and books with a double bed and woodstove.
We supply all cutlery, plates’ mugs and cooking utensils and pans. Just bring your food and drink!
Each of our spacious Bell Tents has a double bed with fresh sheets and duvet. There’s a fire pit as well as a gas BBQ for cooking. Tea, coffee, sugar and marshmallows are provided along with an icebox with milk and also cutlery, glasses and mugs. There are also communal pots and pans to use.
Please note that no naked flames are allowed in the tent. Battery/solar-powered lights are supplied along with a BBQ to boil your kettle on.
Remember you are in a Conservation Area and off-grid (no electricity or Wi-Fi) but there are two self-composting toilets in the field and an indoor shower and flushing toilet in the yard (please bring your own towels for the shower) in the field there is running water to drink and to help you do the dishes.

Beautiful, tranquil & spotlessly clean. I had a wonderful couple of nights staying in Daisy at Ellenden Farm- welcoming & friendly host, thoughtful touches in the hut (jar of marshmallows & binoculars for bird watching!), gorgeously quiet surroundings to relax on the sofas & a clean & comfy bed- loved it and would love to come back
If you want a welcoming relaxing, peaceful stay then this is the place for you. Beautiful fields, forest, farm and bell tent with all the amenities you could need. So close to Whitstable for food and shopping or stay at the farm and switch off for a few days. We will definitely be back.
